About
My name is Mahmoud Mazouz, and I'm a software engineer.
During the summer of 2022, I was a software engineering intern at Tweag. I've done performance work on the interpreter of the Nickel Configuration Language.
In the spring of 2023, I did a six-month internship at BNP Paribas CIB, where I worked to apply SIMD-accelerated parsing techniques to a proprietary document language, achieving a deserializing throughput between 1 GB/s and 6 GB/s in Rust.
Since late 2023, I have been involved with the Eclipse Zenoh project at ZettaScale, where I have worked on wide-ranging topics from automation of the Zenoh release process, to the routing subsystem, to stress testing the Rust implementation, to improving of RMW Zenoh performance, to implementing Record & Replay tooling and an interactive Zenoh shell.
I take a keen interest in the design and implementation of programming languages, distributed systems, and system design. Ultimately, I intend to become a systems architect.
